a chemistry treat
whoever said working in the chemistry building wasn’t exciting, clearly hasn’t visited my neck of the woods today.
so far today i have:
* eaten more than my share of “fun size” snickers
* had the opportunity to tell countless laffy taffy jokes that are really lame
* seen 2 witches walking down the hallway
* spent 10 minutes pushing my face against a window, while holding a sign that read, “i want to ride the snorklelift please!! just knock!” to the snorkle-men right on the other side
* been encouraged to dress scandalously in order to ride said snorklelift
* heard the f-bomb in conjunction with the word “boots” multiple times, when being told to dress scandalously, while standing in the company of my two bosses.
and three more things that made the day even better, that have nothing to do with the chemistry building:
* discovering the small whistle that came on my backpack, and then blowing it as nonchalantly as one can when walking in a crowd while blowing a whistle.
* wearing a shirt with “the endangered parrots of the world” shirt today, and getting made fun of because of it. also, telling jill that i had dressed as a parrot enthusiast for halloween made wearing the shirt even more spectacular.
* walking through the empty fountain outside the UC, and “splashing” around in the small pile of leaves that had collected inside it. i may or may not have gotten some looks.
i still have 2 more hours of work ahead of me. my fingers are crossed that there will be even more things to add to my list.

life aspiration…sort of
it’s been a while since i last posted about an observation from my window in the chemistry building, so now is as good of a time as any.
all around campus, busy little workers in physical plant uniforms are decking the walls of our buildings with christmas lights. it’s almost time for one of my favorite tech traditions, the carol of lights.
and because of this, it is now my new goal in life to ride and/or operate the TTU Snorklelift PRO66.
if i weren’t so afraid of social interactions, i would go ask the friendly looking men outside my window right now if they would let a homely girl like me fulfill my dream. too bad, whitster…

messy bessy
this past week/weekend has been kinda rough on me…and most definitely my appearance. i’m that girl. you know, the one who comes to class late, wearing pajama pants that clash terribly with some ratty old sweatshirt, hair pulled back carelessly in a half-hearted attempt at a messy bun, and no make-up. eep! i just stopped caring, i guess.
we’re not even going to really get into the showering issue. maybe my shower was kinda lonely this weekend… hey, it happens. just close your eyes, and nod in acceptance. [side note: i have showered as of this morning. yay, soap & water!] and, in all fairness, i really did have a rough weekend…bleh.
because of that fact, i treated myself to the best of the best: an electronic extravaganza! i spent my time with movies, computers, & video games…man, i am sooo awesome.
it wasn’t all fun and games though. oh no, i was ridiculed and persecuted for my love of crappy video games. the clerk at toys’r'us thought it was hi-larious to help me with my selection of games, which included Billy Hatcher & the Giant Egg and Harvest Moon.
feel free to mock me as well. i know how cool i really am.
