i LAKE you.

I finally ventured out to Lake Allen Henry this weekend with David, Shelby, and Samuel. It has been entirely too long since I have:

1. been exposed to the sun, and
2. enjoyed a day at the lake.

We did the usual: putting around, wakeboarding, eating lunch that Moma made, dropping anchor and swimming around, and tubing. I dubbed Samuel, Shelby and me “David’s little potatoes” because we were the tubers for the day. However, no one really got it because no one knew what a “tuber” was.

Samuel was our star for the day as he continually worked on his wakeboarding back flip. The first time he did it I was completely taken by surprise. The last time I saw him wakeboarding, he was barely clearing the wake. I was lucky to catch some of it with my camera.

I can’t even begin to stress how badly I needed the sunshine and fresh air. We couldn’t have asked for a better afternoon either; there was plenty of sunshine, a nice breeze, and few boats competing for space. This was literally the medicine my wounded soul needed. I just hope to get back out there soon…
