Jean + Steve
May 23, 2009
Last weekend was a special occasion for my family: we celebrated a wedding! Jean has been dating Steve for almost two years, and on Sunday they were married.
Honestly, I had mixed emotions, and it was hard to really talk about it with anyone because I wasn’t entirely sure how I felt. It made me sad because it’s a solid reminder that my daddy isn’t coming back. Even though I know this, it’s not any easier to say now than it was 4 years ago. On the other hand, I’m very glad for Jean, and because I love her so much I want to see her happy and in love again.
It was a small, family-only ceremony, and with this union I now have two new sisters. I met Steve’s youngest daughter, Esther, on Saturday evening during dinner. And, hopefully, I’ll meet her older sister, Jennifer, in Atlanta next weekend when we all meet up for a reception. To see the entire photo set, click here.
Congratulations, Jean & Steve!
